“It does not need tremendous foresight to conclude that we need a concerted effort to increase local food production, augmented by a drive to “Buy Sri Lankan” which would result in substantial saving of foreign exchange. Such savings can then be deployed and better utilized for developmental activities in the country, including the settlement of all our debts”.


Our Managing Director Mr. Ariyaseela Wickramanayake, a well known diver cum Management expert in Sri Lanka, is the chairman and the Managing Director of Master Divers Pvt Ltd, a world class maritime construction company. Today, Master Divers is on call to offer its services in any part of the world and is probably the only marine organization in the Asian Region with its own fleet of vessels, Equipment, and Expertise.

Mr. Wickramanayake is presently serving as Director of two plantation companies in Sri Lanka, i.e. Bogawantalawa Plantations Ltd and Elpitiya Plantations Ltd. He is the founding member and first chairman of Mawbima Lanka Foundation, a non for profit Limited Liability Association in Sri Lanka.

He held key managerial positions in several public sector institutions including Chairman of State Engineering Corporation and Chairman of National Livestock Development Board. Further he has served as a Member of the council University of Ruhuna.

Mr. Ariyaseela Wickramanayake is well experienced and internationally recognized resource person in off-shore and harbor based marine activities and construction of underwater projects. He has completed several international maritime construction projects to his credit as follows;

 
  • Construction of Queen Elizabeth Quay Container
  • Underwater services for Construction of 3 ¾ KM long Container Terminal in 20 M water depth (Longest in the World) Port of Damamm Saudi Arabia Underwater services for Construction of Puket Deep Sea Port in Thailand.
  • Construction of Jaya Container Terminal (J C T) Stages I, II, III & IV in Port of Colombo Installation of Land – end of SE – ME – WE overseas telephone cables.
  • Installation of Single Point Buoy Mooring (SPBM) for Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
  • Underwater rock blasting operations for deepening of Colombo Harbour, Galle Harbour and many Fishery Harbours.

Mr. Wickramanayake has been awarded for quality and services by several international organizations. Some of his achievements are given below;

  • International Award accredited in France 2001
  • International Award For the Best Image of Industry and Commerce - Europe 2002 in Belgium
  • Worldwide Quality Award 2002 in Mexico

He is the author of “Why Hambantota” which explains the suitability of location at Hambantota for an international port.

“It is our firm belief that Sri Lanka possesses both the capacity and potential to increase domestic production of sugar and alcohol to achieve self-sufficiency. What is required is a policy environment that will encourage, develop and protect the local sugar industry, on the lines of those of other major sugar producing countries”.
