PSIL spends nearly Rs. 50 Million annually on a programme to protect the wild elephants. The resort is situated in the heart of elephant sanctuary. It is a perennial problem of how to get humans and elephants to live in harmony. The expenditure under this Living in Harmony programme goes to ensure the protection for crops and lives of human beings from elephant incursions.

The main elements of the programme involve an "electric fence" and the employment of over 200 workers equipped with 30 tractors to patrol the borders and to maintain elephant trenches to prevent elephants crossing over to human habitation. In the recent past PSIL has completed cutting over 40 km of trenches to prevent elephant incursions.
